One of India’s trusted number 4 batsman & an under 19 sensation during his era, Ambati Rayudu in a shocking scenario announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday amid his talks and debates of not being included in the side despite Vijay Shankar’s injury & the inclusion of Mayank Aggarwal along with Rishabh Pant back in the side.
Not a long while back, were we talking about our choices of the number 4 position in the Indian Cricket team’s batting line up. Rayudu was our choice number 3 in the list and this decision coming from the ace Chennai Super Kings batsman just goes to show the amount of ignorance he’s felt in a while.
If we talk about the Twitterati, there are multiple reactions coming up after Rayudu’s letter to the Hyderabad Cricket Association informing about his retirement.

This news comes as mayhem because of the talent this guy possesses, and what he has done for the Indian Cricket for over a year and a half. Zaheer Khan, in a statement said, “He’s had a roller coaster ride as a cricketer and it’s time to celebrate the contribution he’s made to the team. I just hope that his decision is not an emotional one.” Gautam Gambhir, on the other hand, has accused the BCCI for the lack of heart shown in their decision making. It’s a point to be noted that Rayudu was taken up as backup to be included in the World Cup 2019 squad.
Iceland Cricket Association in a tweet has offered him their citizenship & a chance to play for them having mentioned that they ‘believe in Rayudu’. Could this be a reason for him to hang his boots?
Whatever it is, we would like to see more of Rayudu in his second innings and hope that the Board of Control for Cricket in India is more wary of the decisions and promises they make for their players in the future.
