The winners of the first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) 2008, Rajasthan Royals have been receiving love from all parts of the country. With cricket running in their veins, the fans have flocked to their home stadium and at neutral venues in generous numbers to show their support.
This year (2019) the franchise has decided to change their jersey to PINK. This move is taken to raise awareness about the early screening of cancer in the country. This initiative was taken in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan, Indian Cancer Society, Indian Dental Association and National Cancer Grid.
After receiving a positive response from their valued fans for wearing a pink jersey last year, the team decided to take this small step of working for the cause. The new jersey which was launched on the show Halla Bol features three colours. The colours featured are pink which stands for breast cancer, teal stands for cervical cancer and burgundy stands for oral cancer.
It seems that many thoughts are invested for this move to work. The team also visited SMS Hospital and went under an early cancer screening at their Oncology department.
The captain of the team, Ajinkya Rahane is a hundred and 26 fifties old player in the format. He was also spotted at the hospital, doing his bit for the cause. This year is going to be crucial from their perspective since they have a knack of coming up with unexpected comebacks and ruin the top teams’ momentum. They enter into the competition as a squad that is here to create major upsets but can they change this rapport to game changers and then eventually Champions? Only time will tell as the tournament kicks off on 23rd March 2019 as CSK take on RCB
Team BalleBaazi wishes the team and all the other teams gearing up for the upcoming IPL, all the best. May the best team win!
