India has had a forgettable experience on this ground vs England losing every single test match they’ve played at this venue.

The Rose Bowl (or Ageas Bowl for sponsorship reasons) has had a history of some great spells of bowling under typical English conditions. The curator for the WTC Final, Simon Lee has expressed his excitement on curating the pitch for the 5 big days of world cricket. According to him, he is looking to prepare a pitch that is bouncy, pacy, and has lots of carries.

“Pace just makes red-ball cricket exciting. I’m a cricket fan and I want to produce a pitch where the cricket lovers have to watch every ball in case they miss something, be that some class batting or an amazing spell of bowling. A maiden over can be quite exciting if it’s a battle of skill between both bowler and batter. “So, yeah, if we can get some pace and bounce in the pitch, but not too one-sided towards seam movement, we’ll be happy,” Lee added.

This will be the 1st time that a neutral game will be held at this venue and it’s going to be nothing but exciting to see the biggest turn up of cricketing greats ever at the World’s biggest stage!
