The Bangladesh Premier League is a massive T20 cricket event which ranks in the top 20 most sought leagues across the globe. Inspired from the round-robin and playoffs gaming format, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formulated the league in the year 2011.

After the suspension of National Cricket League Twenty20 (2009-2010), BCB decided to establish BPL as a professional cricket championship in Bangladesh. The first ever edition of BPL was in February 2012, which was played across Chittagong and Dhaka.

It is also identified as the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20 and the upcoming edition of the league is scheduled to commence from 6 January to 16 February 2023. With that said, let’s start to gain more insight into Bangladesh’s franchise cricket league.

Bangladesh Premier League 2023 Schedule

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalised the fixtures for the Bangladesh Premier League 2023, a celebrated cricket T20 series. As per the released fixtures, six teams will play 42 league matches against each other in three stadiums in the country (Bangladesh).

These three stadiums are famed and a witness to the progress of cricket in Bangladesh. The three stadiums are Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram and the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.

Bangladesh Premier League 2023 Teams & Squad

The Bangladesh Premier League will comprise a subtle combination of domestic and foreign players. Since the BCB is conferring a consolidated contract of one year only, some teams have withdrawn their participation from the league with an apprehensive approach.

The top 2 teams who will qualify from the playoffs will compete for the ultimate title of the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League 2023 in the finals. The winning team will be awarded a sum of $850,000 USD, which is approximately 8,75,43,795.00 bangladeshi taka.

Bangladesh Premier League 2023 Venue

The Bangladesh Premier League is a highly acclaimed sports event, followed by people across the globe. The much awaited league is said to be hosted across different locations in Bangladesh. This includes-

• Sylhet International Cricket Stadium with an accommodation capacity of 18,500.
• Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, with an accommodation capacity of 20,000.
• Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, with an accommodation capacity of 26,000.

These three prestigious venues have been given a nod to host the Bangladesh Premier League 2023. According to the BPL 2023 Schedule, there will be a series of 36 matches which is segregated into 3 stages.
