Ishan Kishan’s innings against Saurashtra earned him a place in the Under-19 World Cup 2016, which increased his chances of an India call-up. He was made the captain of a side that included extremely talented players like Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan and Khaleel Ahmed. Ishan Kishan didn’t have a great outing with the bat as he scored only 73 runs in 6 innings. He seemed to be in trouble whenever the conditions weren’t friendly. Although, Kishan’s captaincy skills were lauded because his team managed to win all five matches and reached the finals undefeated. The famed Indian batting line-up got exposed in the face of a brilliant bowling performance by the West Indies(WI) and settled for a total of 145 runs in the final match. Kishan could manage only four runs in the match. The Indians fought well in the 2nd innings and even after having to defend a low total, managed to stretch the match till the very last over.
