Nathan Coulter Nile
Where there was a breeze of fastest rising bowlers in Australia, Nathan Coulter Nile has been one of the fittest and healthiest athletes out of all his contemporaries, and when suitable, he has also served as a staple in limited-over formats. Coulter started his career in the domestic circuit, by representing Western Australia and Perth Scorchers. His initial presence for Western Australia was both at U-17 and U-19 levels, and in the year 2003-04, he played for the National Under-17 Championship, where he took four wickets in five matches. Later, after playing three ODI matches for the Australian National Under-19 team, he received a contract from the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), where he made his debut during the year 2009-10 and became a regular member in Western Australia’s and the Perth Scorchers’ fast bowling attacks. By the end of the year 2012-13, Coulter Nile earned twenty-six Sheffield Shield wickets and was even awarded the Laurie Sawle Medal for being the player of the season at Western Australia.
Nathan got a massive statement by the respected and honorable selector, John Inverarity that he is “one of the three or four best fieldsmen in Australia.” The inbuilt technique he has, and the energy he shows on the field, adds up to his game and makes him outshine among the others playing. After showcasing his skills in front of the audience in the ODI Tri-series featuring Australia A, India A and South Africa A, he swiftly got his position into Australian’s 18-man senior squad for the ODI and Twenty20 International Series of Australia's 2013 tour to England.
Prone to massive injuries, he has been in and out of the Australian side over the years. Due to the situation, it was tough for him to break into the squad with more experienced cricketers. However, at times during the rotation of the players, Coulter got the opportunity to get featured in the XI and never let that chance go. Later, after not being picked for the 2015 World Cup and also not for the 2017 Champions Trophy, he got a call for the tour of India . His performance on the field was indeed commendable and majorly batting-heavy.

- Indian Premier League
Just like his Australia career, Coulter Nile’s IPL career was also an on and off again and again. Due to his shoulder injury, he missed the initial seasons, but when he came back, he was on fire. Being among the best, Nile was selected by Mumbai Indians as they first showed interest in the player in the year 2013 and won the bidding at INR 3 Crore against Rajasthan Royals . In the following year, he was picked by Delhi Daredevils for INR 4.25 Crore. He picked up 15 wickets in the 2014 IPL.
Again being off the field for the next seasons, he was later picked up by the SRK’s team Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2017 auction, at INR 3.25 Crore. That year was the best IPL year for him; he bagged 15 wickets. Lastly, in the year 2018, despite being picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore at INR 2.2 Crores, the addition of Nathan Coulter Nile in the RCB team was not fruitful as he missed the whole season due to an injury. Royal Challengers Bangalore released Nile for the 2020 IPL auction, and there he was picked up again by Mumbai Indians for the 2021 Indian Premier League . Although he was released ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, he was again bought by the Mukesh Ambani owned franchise for INR 5 Crores. Playing for Mumbai Indians this year, let’s see where Nathan Coulter Nile’s IPL journey goes.
