Top Signings in the Auction

There will be a departure from last year's model, in which Bengaluru's bio-bubble served as the venue for the whole event. The management added that fans will be permitted inside the stadium for this PKL 2022.

The announcement was made 20 days after the player auctions for the PKL's 9th season. This was the largest auction in the history of PKL since 2014 with many record breaking bids.

A quick highlight of the top signings is outlined below.

  • The Tamil Thalaivas signed Pawan Kumar Sehrawat for a whopping INR 2.26 Crore, making him the costliest player in league history.
  • Vikash Kandola, a former star for the Haryana Steelers who was acquired by the Bengaluru Bulls to replace Sehrawat for INR 1.70 crore, was one of the other notable signings.
  • While Puneri Paltan agreed to spend an enormous sum of INR 1.38 crore to sign the defender from Iran, Fazel Atrachali preserved his record as the PKL's most expensive foreign player.
  • Among the players who received bids above one crore in the PKL Season 9 auction, Guman Singh caught everyone off guard. Guman, a raider who last played for the Patna Pirates in Season 8, dazzled spectators with 97 points in 19 games.
  • This included 95 raid points and 4 Super 10s. Guman Singh, who will be playing in the Pro Kabaddi Season 9 for the third time, will be one of the key players to watch – particularly with his huge price tag of INR 1.21 Crores.
  • Pardeep Narwal's inclusion in the discharged players' list for the Vivo Pro Kabaddi 2022 auction aroused eyebrows as he was the most expensive player at the PKL Season 8 auction. However, UP Yoddhas used their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to re-sign the "Dubki King" for INR 90 lakh.
