The 37 year old South African legend Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. In 2018, Villiers retired from International cricket but continued to play IPL and T20 matches.  

“It’s difficult to put into words what the fans around the world and supporters of cricket and of my cricket specifically have meant to me, it’s been life-changing. And to each and every one of you who have criticized me or just loved everything that I have done throughout my career, thank you very much,” AB de Villiers said.

AB de Villiers started his career in 2004 with a Test match against England at the age of 20. Villiers has batted in all positions from No.1 to No.8 and has performed extremely well in all positions. Villiers has played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is in his career, holding the record of fastest 50,100 and 150 in ODI and is the only batsman ever to average above 50 with a strike rate of above 100.
