The era of 2010- 2019 would be remembered as the decade of T20. Loads and loads of matches played ranging from international to domestic redefining the game in so many ways. We have seen almost everything in this era whether it be the most emphatic catches or the most breathtaking hitting-out-of-the-park moments. Imagine if you were to pick your T20 team of the decade!

BalleBaazi has put out our very own T20 team of the decade that comprises of players who secured the most number of fantasy points throughout the year in their respective leagues.

Check out the best fantasy team from the best fantasy sports app here:

1. Rohit Sharma

What a dream 2019 has this opener from the Indian dressing room had. Seven centuries only and only in this year out of which four of them came in the gigantic Cricket World Cup in England this year. The way Rohit paces his innings at the top is a mark of a remarkable batsman and then his acceleration grows at an astonishing pace. All he’s looking out for is that one short ball that he can hook past mid-wicket with ease.

2. Chris Lynn

Making a T20 team without an opener like Chris Lynn would be a huge mistake (Cheers Mumbai Indians!). The Australian T20 star has set so many records with his consistent hard-hitting. His 121 metres six to Shaun Tait is yet the most favourite moment of players like Ricky Ponting from the T20 carnival. The wink that followed the shot was just the icing on the cake. Chris continues to set the T20 league on fire with his hard hitting skills as he made 94 off just 35 deliveries recently for the Strikers.

3. Virat Kohli

The Indian Captain has owned the decade completely unopposed. With over 70 centuries in the decade, he has made sure his T20 batting style does not get left behind. His rise can be noted from the 2016 IPL & T20 World Cup in particular where he outperformed almost every team until West Indies came as a huge upset. Kohli’s evolution as a player and as a Captain has made him the talk of the decade. His aggression, passion and attitude for the game sets him apart and we would love to have him as our Captain of our BalleBaazi fantasy cricket playing 11.

4. Babar Azam

The Mr. Cricket of Pakistan and someone who has been idolizing Virat Kohli for a while, Babar Azam has been a huge find to not only Pakistan but world cricket itself. His class, and particularly his drives caught many eyeballs in the decade and have earned him the spot of the best T20 batsman according to the international cricket council. He would definitely be our number four in the fantasy playing 11 of BalleBaazi. The way he anchors the innings is something very rare and very much needed in a T20 format.

5. Dawid Malan

His 117 off just 57 deliveries for Middlesex can easily be rated as one of the best innings of the decade. The swashbuckling left hander from England has been a huge find and has proved himself in the T20 format. He is currently one of the top 10 batsmen in the format and at number 5 he can easily take on the opposition from ball 1.

6. Ben Stokes

If there had to be a destiny’s child in the year 2019, it has to be this English Cricketer: Benjamin Andrew Stokes. After taking those 4 huge sixes from Carlos Brathwaite at the 2016 T20 World final, he has never looked back. Be it T20, ODIs or even Test Cricket he has been what Eoin Morgan says, “Every English child’s role model and superman!” He has made the impossible possible for England this year with both bat and ball and having him in our team was rhetorical.

7. Andre Russell

Surprisingly, he’s the only Caribbean cricketer who has made it to our playing 11 of the decade. Andre Russell with his ‘Russell-Muscle’ knows just one way to bat and that is to hit the ball straight into the orbit. Does not matter for which team he plays, he makes sure the crowds get entertained in every way possible. His six hitting abilities have been insane and world cricket has easily found the man who can hit at will without taking the venue, ground and pitch into consideration. Considering he performs in every match with the ball and the bat, he would definitely be our Vice-Captain.

8. Jos Buttler

Of course we need a wicket-keeper in our playing 11 of the decade. Who better than Jos Buttler? The man with the golden glove who ran Martin Guptill out in the Cricket World Cup 2019 and snatched victory from the mouth of the Kiwis. This explosive batsman has single-handedly won matches for his team coming in late at the death and turning matches into England’s favour. He has scored the second fastest 100 for England in only 50 balls. In the pre-World Cup conference, many team Captains wished to have a player like Jos Buttler in their team so why should we leave the Rajasthan Royals opener behind?

9. Rashid Khan

The wonder boy from Afghanistan who has made his country proud and pasted a competitive picture of his country on the world cricketing map, Rashid Khan, can easily be defined as the find of the decade. He’s not only one of the best T20 bowlers ever but also holds a record hat-trick for his nation. His leg spin has impressed not only in international outings but also in the Many T20 cricket league and the Indian Premier League where he plays for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

10. Jasprit Bumrah

Taking a hat-trick and hitting the deck hard on a West Indian wicket could have only been a dream for India until Jasprit Bumrah happened to world cricket. He bowls over 140ks consistently and is arguably the best death bowler in the world with toe-crushing yorkers and an action to die for. Boom Boom Bumrah makes it to our fantasy cricket team of the decade as one of the spearheads in the pace attack.

11. Mitchell Starc

The Australian spearhead who can rattle out any top order in the world, Mitchell Starc will definitely be our pick of the bowlers. He has been in and out due to injuries like any other fast bowler but has always delivered the goods for his team. The left handed speedstar has an astonishing economy of 6.74 which are a dream for any bowler in the batsman-friendly short format. But, as they say, it’s the bowlers that win you the match, we definitely put our money on Mitch.
